While Michael Dougherty’s 2015 horror fantasy Krampus remains the high watermark, any number of horror flicks seem to have bore the Christmas Devil’s name in recent years, and there’s another headed our way this festive season, as heralded by the bloody mayhem of this trailer.
From Uncork’d Entertainment comes Krampus Unleashed, which hits VOD on November 1st and DVD December 13th. It is a low budget endeavour from director Robert Conway, following up his 2015 cheapy Krampus: The Reckoning, and it looks like it contains a whole lot of silly seasonal slashing. Which is fine by me.
Some things are better left buried. In pursuit of a lost treasure, a group of fortune hunters mistakenly unearth an ancient demonic summoning stone that holds a terrible curse and awakens a timeless evil, the Krampus. After centuries of slumber, Krampus, the Christmas Devil, has awoken with a thirst that only blood will quench. He knows if you’ve been naughty!
Krampus Unleashed stars Amelia Brantley, Bryson Holl and Travis Amery who, as well as being the film’s cinematographer, plays the titular demon for the second time following Krampus: The Reckoning.
