In short film Sons of Bitches, Sally, a 19th-Century prostitute finds herself well and truly stuck between a rock and a hard place, the rock being a vengeful bounty hunter and the hard place sheer, snowy mountains. Or maybe it’s the other way around. Either way, the film’s trailer has been released, and it provides a visually arresting 40 or so seconds.
The film, which is set in 1896 Wisconsin, walked away with the Taurus Award for Innovation following its premiere at the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival (NIFFF) in Switzerland in July.
Sons of Bitches was directed by Swiss filmmaker Arnaud Baur and stars Sandra Zellweger, Raphaël Tschudi and Antonio Buil. It was produced by Baur, Tschudi and Olivier Beguin (director of 2013’s Chimeres), and written by Colin Vettier. Here’s hoping the full film appears online sometime soon.
