Chace Crawford has been cast in Mary Harron’s upcoming Charles Manson film Charlie Says. He will play the role of Charles Deonton “Tex” Watson, a murderer who was a central part of the so-called Manson family. He was eventually found guilty of murder and imprisoned in 1971.
The film will focus on the three women – Susan Atkins, Patricia Krenwinkel and Leslie Van Houten – who were initially sentenced to death for their part in the murders of 9 people. The script has been written by American Psycho scribe Guinevere Turner and is inspired by the novels The Long Prison Journey of Leslie van Houten: Life Beyond the Cult and The Family.
Charlie Says additionally stars Matt Smith in the role of Charles Manson, Suki Waterhouse, Hannah Murray, Odessa Young, Marianna Rendon, Carla Gugino, Kaylie Carter and Merritt Wever.
Production is set to begin this spring in LA.
