The film adaptation of Goosebumps was released in 2015 and it was a lot of fun. It may have been a family-friendly flick, but it was packed with jumpy moments and a twisted talking dummy that was actually pretty freaky. It was a great love letter to the Goosebumps stories and horror as a whole, plus it did excellently at the box office, so it was no surprise to learn that it would be receiving a sequel.
A bunch of new cast members have been added to the film and they are Bridesmaids’ Wendi McLendon-Covey, Community’s Ken Jeong and Anchorman’s Chris Parnell. They join Madison Iseman, Ben O’Brien, Caleel Harris, Jeremy Ray Taylor and returning star Jack Black.
The plot is quite vague at the moment, but we have learned that it will be titled Slappy’s Revenge and is set to follow a group of kids as they try to put an end to a Halloween apocalypse.
Goosebumps 2 has a release date slated for 12th October 2018, so will be perfect viewing for this Halloween season. Ari Sandel is in the director’s chair this time, taking the reins from the first film’s director Rob Letterman.
