Saturday marked the beginning of production on David Gordon Green’s Halloween, the hotly anticipated new sequel to John Carpenter’s 1978 classic. Along with the announcement came the names of more cast members.
We have known for some time that Jamie Lee Curtis will reprise her role of Laurie Strode, with Judy Greer playing Laurie’s daughter Karen. More recently, Andi Matichak landed the film’s young lead role, playing Laurie’s granddaughter Allyson.
Joining them are a host of newly-announced young stars, playing Allyson’s school friends, those being Virginia “Ginny” Gardner (Project Almanac), Miles Robbins (My Friend Dahmer), Dylan Arnold (Mudbound) and Drew Scheid (Stranger Things).
Nick Castle – one of two actors to play Michael Myers (then credited as ‘The Shape’) in the original film, not to mention the writer of Carpenter’s Escape from New York – will once again don that famous mask, apparently sharing the role once again, this time with actor and stunt performer James Jude Courtney.
Here’s all the plot details we have:
“Laurie Strode comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.”
Halloween arrives in cinemas on October 19th.
