How would you feel about a Buffy the Vampire Slayer reunion?
Well, whilst we may never get that revival television series all fans long for, audible is bringing fans the next best thing!
October 12th will see the release of Slayers: A Buffyverse Story, an original audio drama that will see several fan favourite cast members reprise their iconic roles.
The series alumni set to return are Anthony Stewart Head as Rupert Giles, James Marsters as Spike, Charisma Carpenter as Cordelia Chase, Emma Caulfield as Anya Emerson, Amber Benson as Tara McClay, Juliet Landau as Drusilla and Danny Strong as Jonathan Levinson.
Quite the reunion indeed! Furthermore, Amber Benson also serves as a co-writer and producer on the piece, so fans can be sure the continuity will be on point.
Slayers: A Buffyverse Story is described as follows:
“Slayers begins as Spike has gone deep undercover in Los Angeles, convincing the forces of darkness that he’s back to his evil ways. But when his cover is compromised by 16-year-old Indira Nunnally, Spike finds himself on baby-slayer-sitting duty once more. While he attempts to track down a watcher for his eager new protégé, their paths collide with the veteran Slayer of a parallel reality where Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar) never existed, and Cordelia Chase (Carpenter) is the one-and-only Slayer. And Cordelia needs Spike’s help with a classic big bad terrorizing her world… his old flame, Drusilla (Landau),”
Of return to his signature role, “Spike” actor James Marsters said the following:
