BONG JOON HO’S NEXT MAY BE HORROR

Posted on: February 21st, 2020

South Korean director Bong Joon Ho made history this month when his masterpiece Parasite became the first foreign-language film to win the Academy Award for Best Picture, in addition to a snagging a host of other trophies. All eyes are on Bong to see what he’ll do next—and it seems he might be returning to horror.

In various interviews, Bong has stated that he has a few ideas he’s working on, one of which is a Seoul-set film with elements of both horror and action. Not much else is known about the project at this time, but we’d love to see it come to fruition.

Of course, this would not be Bong’s first foray into horror territory. He also directed creature-feature The Host in 2006, and Parasite is hardly devoid of creepy elements.
