Mark Jenkin, whose 2019 drama Bait was nominated for two BAFTAs, will be directing a Cornish-set horror film called Enys Men.
Meaning “stone island” in Cornish, Enys Men revolves around a group of women living on an island with only an ancient standing stone for company. They’re haunted by echoes of the past—and of the future.
Jenkin also wrote the script for the film, which will be co-financed by Film4. Denzil Monk will produce for Bosena, with Johnny Fewings serving as executive producer and Kate Byers and Linn Waite as associate producers.
The film is slated to begin shooting in Cornwall in May.
