Are You Afraid of the Dark? No Longer has a Release Date

Posted on: March 1st, 2019

You’ll probably remember the original series of Are You Afraid of the Dark? from the 1990s, which hailed from Canada, telling various spooky stories across its anthology format until it came to an end in 2000. A revival was set to be on the way this year on 4th October, but now Paramount has removed the film from its slate of releases. Sob!

It wasn’t a particularly scary affair – not if you were older than 14 – but, I remember being chilled by some of The Midnight Society’s stories as they sat round a camp fire in the woods, so I was excited to see it brought back to the screen. Even though the show was tailored for a young audience, writer Gary Dauberman (Annabelle: Creation) hoped that it would be darker and scarier. Hopefully it hasn’t vanished forever and we’ll see it sometime in the future.

More as it comes!
