Actress Amanda Kramer will be making her directorial debut with Ladyworld, a thriller which is being described as a female Lord of the Flies. The story will follow a group of women who get trapped after a devastating earthquake, with their confinement causing them to slowly lose their sanity.
Watching characters lose their minds is something frequently covered in horror. From The Shining and Don’t Look Now to recent flicks like 1408 and The Babadook, a protagonist’s state of mind is always an interestingly and potentially horrifying aspect of horror films. If Ladyworld can delve into its women’s minds successfully and scarily, then we could be getting another thrilling, claustrophobic exploration of insanity and that sounds like a lot of fun.
Ladyworld, so far, has a few cast members that include Kiernan Shipka (Mad Men, Carriers), Ryan Sipkins (Anguish) and Amandla Stenberg (Colombiana, The Hunger Games). There is no word on an official synopsis or release date yet, but we will let you know as soon as they become available.
