“ALL FUN AND GAMES” TEASES BLOODY POSSESSION HIJINKS IN FIRST TRAILER

Posted on: August 16th, 2023

Warnings are there for a reason…

Given the current horror climate being hungry for the supernatural in the wake of Insidious: The Red Door and the anticipation for The Exorcist: Believer, the trailer for Vertical Entertainment’s All Fun and Games looks to promise just the thing to tide fans over.

With a cast including Stranger Things’ Natalia Dyer, Sex Education’s Asa Butterfield and The Haunting of Bly Manor star Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, the film has quite a lot in terms of name recognition.

Telling the story of a group of friends getting away to a remote house in Salem, things evidently take a sinister turn with the discovery of a mysterious blade. Imbued with the phrase “I will play, I won’t quit,” a sinister spirit is seemingly unlocked when each member of the group agrees to play a harmless children’s game, but is made to repeat this mantra before participating.

Combining elements of the supernatural and the slasher sub genres, the trailer sees the spirit of a vengeful witch zero in on Butterfield. Speaking in an eerily distorted voice, the actor carves a symbol into his forehead and forces his friends into a life-or-death game of hide-and-seek.

The cast here look to give their all, and All Fun and Games has quite a lot of production values on its side. The rural setting and some gorgeous night-time photography promise some good old-fashioned slasher style chase scenes as the games get underway!

Set to release on September 1st 2023, All Fun and Games will see a limited theatrical run before making its way to on-demand platforms. Will you be participating in the game of your life?
