Aidan Gillen has been cast in the History Channel’s Blue Book, a 10-episode drama series that will chronicle real UFO investigations and the secrets that have surrounded them. It will centre its focus on the ‘50s and ‘60s and the US Air Force’s involvement in Project Blue Book.
The real life report eventually determined that no UFO reported was a threat to national security, that there was no sightings were in fact “unidentified” and none of the sightings were extraterrestrial. Boo!
Despite the truth, we’re sure that Blue Book will take a more alien approach, hopefully hinting at extraterrestrial and unidentified behaviour in the skies. Robert Stromberg will be directing the first two episodes of the series and the synopsis, so far, is as follows:
“[Blue Book] Follows Dr. J. Allen Hynek, a brilliant college professor recruited by the U.S. Air Force to spearhead this clandestine operation that researched thousands of cases, many of which were never solved. Each episode will draw from the actual files, blending UFO theories with authentic historical events from one of the most mysterious eras in United States history.”
