It has been very quiet on the Ad Astra front since Tommy Lee Jones and Brad Pitt joined the cast in June, but now we have confirmation of the film’s release. Filming is currently underway and the film is set to be released on 11th January 2019; so it’s quite a while away just yet.
Ad Astra follows an astronaut who ventures into space to uncover why his father was unsuccessful during a one-way mission to Neptune. His mission was to uncover extra-terrestrial lifeforms, but a lack of communication over 20 years neither confirms nor denies the possibility of aliens.
The title “Ad Astra” translates to “To the Stars” in Latin, but we expect that is the film’s working title. It hasn’t been confirmed whether that is true or not, or what the title possibly could be. Does anyone fancy having a guess?
Keep your eyes peeled for more, but Ad Astra certainly sounds like an intriguing addition to the sci-fi universe.
