Grossing almost $1 billion worldwide since 2018, the appetite for A Quiet Place is still insatiable.
Alongside the announcement of a prequel in 2022, we were also promised a third chapter in the main A Quiet Place franchise. Billed as the final entry in the post-apocalyptic trilogy, the third instalment was given a tentative 2025 release date.
However, in February of 2024, A Quiet Place III was removed from Paramount’s release schedule. Since then, we’ve heard nothing of the third movie.
However, now producer Brad Fuller has issued an update, assuring fans the project is still very much in the pipeline:
“You know, when we made the first one, John [Krasinski] didn’t have a lot on his plate. He had just come off The Office, and he wanted to be a director. Now, he’s so in demand, and it’s hard to get him. He’s making a movie now, so as soon as he finishes that, hopefully, he will turn his attention to [A Quiet Place 3].”
Fuller continued:
“We all want to finish that trilogy, and I’m hopeful there’s even more Quiet Place movies beyond that.”
So, although it may not be coming when expected, A Quiet Place III is still very much in development. Once again, scheduling puts a thorn in the side of a highly anticipated horror project.
If Fuller’s words are anything to go by, A Quiet Place III may end Krasinski’s “family” trilogy, but there will likely be many movies from the A Quiet Place brand to come.
We’ll let you know as soon as work on A Quiet Place III begins.
