“A QUIET PLACE: DAY ONE” DROPS SURPRISE FIRST TEASER

Posted on: February 24th, 2024

We did just cover the “first look” images from the upcoming prequel A Quiet Place: Day One, and stated a trailer was expected soon. Evidently, we didn’t bargain on just how soon…

Before we discuss the action-packed clip, we must preface by stating that, although the trailer was expected to debut later, it was leaked online late February 7th. Subsequently, Paramount Pictures released the clip early to their official YouTube channel.

Beginning with a clip montage of our current A Quiet Place timeline, an on-screen counter takes us all the way back to “Day 1.” In New York City, we see Lupita Nyong’o and a feline friend traverse the streets. Things go awry as blasts emanate from the sky, and chaos reigns as the creatures begin to attack.

Sharp editing ensures we only get the briefest look at each sequence, but it gives us just enough to know that Day One has scale. The teaser is packed with action sequences, including our only glimpse at Stranger Things star Joseph Quinn. He and Nyong’o race through the financial district as alien creatures swarm above them.

With explosions, fighter jets and car crashes, this prequel seems to be going for the jugular in a way we haven’t seen from the franchise before.

If the finished film matches the high-stakes excitement of this first teaser, A Quiet Place: Day One should do very well upon its June 28th release.

Will this be the start of a whole new line of films set apart from the main continuity? Only time will tell!

Check out the surprise teaser below:
