Just as the kids head back to school, two of the summer’s biggest genre hits are heading home!
It’s been a hell of a summer for the horror genre, but if you haven’t had the time to head to the theatre, we’ve got just the thing for you.
After grossing a massive $226 million at the worldwide box-office, A Quiet Place: Day One is now available to stream on Paramount+. The prequel to the A Quiet Place movies stars Joseph Quinn and Lupita Nyong’o as two strangers forced together as Alien creatures invade New York.
Garnering massive critical praise, and attaining the best opening weekend of the series so far, you won’t want to miss this one if you’re a Paramount+ customer.
In more good news, one of the genre’s sleeper hits of the summer has hit digital platforms. M. Night Shyamalan’s Trap faced tough competition at the box-office, staring down blockbusters Deadpool & Wolverine and Twisters. However, the movie never faltered, bringing in an admirable opening haul of $22 million worldwide. Currently, Trap has grossed over $72 million, continuing to find popularity throughout Europe.
Telling the story of a father and daughter attending a pop concert, things are upended when it’s discovered the concert has been rigged as a trap to catch a serial killer, who is also in attendance. Earning praise for its tension, and Josh Hartnett’s wonderfully unhinged performance, Trap is the perfect way to spend an evening it home. The film is currently available to rent on all good streaming platforms, happy viewing!
