It looks like Searchlight Pictures have another winner on their hands with new Hulu-original movie Hold Your Breath.
In a newly released trailer, we get our first look at the period piece, which makes us ask many questions. Starring American Horror Story alum Sarah Paulson, the movie tells the tale of a mother and her two daughters struggling to cope during the great depression. Their hardship is made even tougher by their placement in the infamous dustbowl.
With winds constantly bringing dust storms, and little money to be found, things take a sinister turn when bodies of locals begin to appear. A mysterious figure known only as “the drifter” strikes fear into the community… but is he real?
Hold Your Breath forces us to question if the threat lurking in the dust is something human, something supernatural… Or is he the product of a disturbed mind cracking under immense pressure?
Paulson stars with Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Amiah Miller and Annaleigh Ashford in this haunting tale, coming to us from directors Karrie Crouse and William Joines. Crouse also wrote the screenplay for the piece as well as serving as an executive producer.
Premiering on October 3rd, Hold Your Breath is one of many treats 20th Century Studios, Searchlight Pictures, and Hulu have in store for Halloween.
