The first glimpse of Kurando Mitsutake’s Karate Kill has arrived in the form of this teaser. Details about the film are hard to come by at the moment, but you can bet it’s going to deal in eye-popping violence and bloody excess. Which is more than fine by me. The director of Samurai Avenger: The Blind Wolf (a homage to the near-legendary Baby Cart series) and 2014’s stylish revenger Gun Woman looks to be sticking with the exploitation-throwback theme again here.
Here is the best official synopsis you’ll read today: “When a mysterious loner Kenji’s little sister goes missing in Los Angeles, whoever stands in his way of finding her will face the wrath of a never-seen-before lethal KARATE KILL!”
The teaser trailer (below) is equally blunt in its promises, and is sure to put a smile on your face, and possibly a little wooziness in your head thanks to some neat rotational camerawork.
Due out this year, Karate Kill is the sole credit for Hayate, who plays Kenji. Asami, who played the lead in Gun Woman also stars.
