For the better part of a year now, writer Josh Stolberg has been teasing a sequel to 2009’s semi-remake slasher Sorority Row.
Although it’s been quite some time since his last update, Stolberg recently took to social media to excite fans once again.
Posting on X, a fan replied to one of Stolberg’s earlier posts regarding Sorority Row, asking:
“Weren’t you working on a sequel to this? What ever happened?”
On March 8th, Stolberg replied, writing:
“Yes! And you’ll be hearing news very, very soon! Exciting!”
Although Stolberg is remaining tight-lipped at the moment, the writer has previously revealed that “several” cast members are expected to return for Sorority Row 2.
Lionsgate have yet to officially announce a sequel, but given Stolberg’s flurry of social media posts over the last year, it’s obvious something is afoot.
2009’s Sorority Row served as a loose remake of 1983’s The House on Sorority Row. Although the movie wasn’t a blockbuster, it made a profit given its meagre $12 million budget. Since then, the film has garnered a strong cult following, so it’s easy to see why a sequel could be a lucrative opportunity.
We’ll keep an eye on this one and report any further developments as soon as we can.
