We’re suckers for the weird over at SCREAM, so Tabloid Vivant has definitely secured our interest. Described as Frankenstein meets Twin Peaks, the film follows an art critic who secures a writing gig at an art magazine. When she meets the fame-obsessed artist Max, they retreat to a quiet cabin where he reveals a painting method that can bring art to life. What ensues is a warped, weird and surreal journey that has an undeniable amount of darkness lurking beneath its colourful surface.
For a directorial debut, Tabloid Vivant looks to be a bold and unique vision, something that deserves an immediate amount of credit. The trailer is definitely worthy of multiple viewings, because it’s bursting with striking visuals and absolutely bizarre moments that are tricky to get your head around the first time. Whatever it offers, Tabloid Vivant is going to unforgettable.
