Cannibals stalk an isolated Texas wasteland in the upcoming film from A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night director Ana Lily Amirpour, The Bad Batch. A seriously cool trailer came our way a while back, and now we have the theatrical poster, which displays the smiley cut-offs sported by the film’s one armed, one-legged heroine Arlen, who is played by Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’ Suki Waterhouse.
Starring alongside Waterhouse are an impressive bunch (or batch) of ‘90s A-listers and more recently-risen stars, including Game of Thrones hulk Jason Momoa, revived genre star Keanu Reeves, Avatar’s Giovanni Ribisi, Rogue One’s Diego Luna and, perhaps unexpectedly, Jim Carrey.
Synopsis:
Arlen (Waterhouse) is unceremoniously dumped in a Texas wasteland fenced off from civilised society. While trying to orient her unforgiving environment, she is captured by a savage band of cannibals and quickly realises she’ll have to fight her way through her new reality. As Arlen adjusts to life in “the bad batch,” she discovers that being good or bad mostly depends on whom you’re standing next to.
Likely to be one of the coolest genre flicks of the year, The Bad Batch will hit US screens on June 23rd.
