Although I am not a huge fan of Robert Egger’s creepy debut The Witch, I am still excited to see what project the director will tackle next. The Witch did not quite hit the horrifying heights I was hoping for, but it was still a memorable and generally unsettling watch.
Eggers’ next feature is titled The Lighthouse and will star Willem Dafoe in the lead role of an aging lighthouse keeper. Dafoe has starred in many spooky features, including Lars Von Trier’s disturbing Antichrist, vampire flick Daybreakers and 2000’s Shadow of the Vampire, where he played Max Schreck.
Details are sparse on The Lighthouse, but we do know that it will be another period piece from Eggers as it will take place in chilly Nova Scotia during the early 20th Century. We promise to bring you more as it comes!
