A very weird, creepy and mysterious teaser trailer has been unleashed for Applecart starring horror icon Barbara Crampton, Brea Grant, Daniel Roebuck and Alison Haislip. It’s difficult to get a grasp on what’s happening, but it definitely looks as though a picturesque holiday in the mountains is about to turn into a nightmarish experience.
Synopsis:
A caring mother loses her sanity, setting off a chain of events resulting in tragedy and murder. The story of Casey Pollack unfolds from two very different perspectives when one night in the woods culminates in absolute terror.
The trailer excellently teases the horrors that are set to be unleashed in Applecart without giving away too much of the story. It’s filled with grotesque and horrifying imagery that is set against a beautiful snowy landscape, equally showcasing the film’s stunning cinematography and ability to scare.
The film comes from director Brad Baruh with a script written by himself and Irving Walker. Applecart promises to put a spin on the horror genre as it covers a documentary-style format, as well as a traditional narrative. Baruh was a producer on the bizarre (but brilliant) John Dies at the End, so it’s no surprise to see him tackling something bold and memorable for his directorial debut.
