NEON has revealed a teaser trailer for David Cronenberg’s latest movie, Crimes of the Future—and the less than a minute of footage is packed with the director’s signature body horror!
Léa Seydoux (The French Dispatch), Viggo Mortensen (Psycho), and Kristen Stewart (Underwater) star in the film, which Cronenberg also wrote. The cast also includes Scott Speedman, Welket Bungué, Don McKellar, Lihi Kornowski, Tanaya Beatty, Nadia Litz, Yorgos Karamichos, and Yorgos Pirpassopoulos.
In Crimes of the Future: “As the human species adapts to a synthetic environment, the body undergoes new transformations and mutations. With his partner Caprice (Seydoux), Saul Tenser (Mortensen), celebrity performance artist, publicly showcases the metamorphosis of his organs in avant-garde performances.
“Timlin (Stewart), an investigator from the National Organ Registry, obsessively tracks their movements, which is when a mysterious group is revealed… Their mission—to use Saul’s notoriety to shed light on the next phase of human evolution.”
Cronenberg has, of course, brought us countless horror classics over the years, from The Fly to Videodrome to Scanners. Check out the teaser for Crimes of the Future below.
