Virginia Madsen Joins Safe Neighborhood

Posted on: February 11th, 2016

safe neighborhoodVirginia Madsen has joined the cast of Chris Peckover’s twist on the home invasion thriller, Safe Neighborhood. The Candyman actress has recently signed up along with Patrick Warburton (Seinfeld, Bad Milo), joining a cast that already includes Olivia DeJonge (The Visit, upcoming horror Scare Campaign) and 13-year-old Levi Miller (Pan).

Details from the Press Release: “Set in a quiet American suburb on a snowy evening on the lead up to Christmas, Ashley (DeJonge), the regular babysitter for Deandra (Madsen) and Robert Lerner (Warburton), has to defend their twelve-year-old son (Miller) from strangers breaking into the house – only to discover that this is far from a normal home invasion.

Described as Home Alone meets Scream, the thriller is a Storm Vision Entertainment and Best Medicine production, directed by Chris Peckover (Undocumented) and written by Zack Kahn and Peckover. The film is being produced by Storm Vision’s Brett Thornquest and Sidonie Abbene (Infini, Terminus, SFv1) and Best Medicine Productions’ Brion Hambel and Paul Jensen (Scenic Route, Natural Selection) and executive produced by Steven Matusko, Shane Abbess, and Lorenzo De Maio.

Producer Brett Thornquest said, “We are honored that actors of the caliber and international standing of Virginia and Patrick have joined the cast along with Dacre and Aleks. With Olivia, Levi, and Ed, this is the perfect ensemble.”

Producer Brion Hambel said, “With this stellar group of actors and Chris and Zack’s thrilling script, this promises to be a crazy night for our cast of characters and a crazier ride for the audience.””

They had me at ‘Home Alone meets Scream’. Safe Neighborhood (which will presumably undergo a slight spelling tweek for UK audiences) is currently in the shooting stage.
