The original I Spit On Your Grave from 1978 is probably one of the most controversial films ever made. It’s depiction of violence was relentless and truly shocking for its time. However, in 2015 we probably believe we’ve seen it all and nothing can shock us, but the 2010 remake was actually pretty good. It didn’t pack as much punch as the original, but it was still a quite shocking and worthy re-telling of the story. The second in the franchise was less impressive, so it’s good to know that the third film will return to the first film and continue from there.
Synopsis:
Jennifer Hills (Sarah Butler) is still tormented by the brutal sexual assault she endured years ago (I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE, 2010). She’s changed identities and cities, reluctantly joining a support group where she begins to piece together a new life. But when her new friend’s murderer goes free and the tales of serial rapists haunt her, Jennifer will hunt down the men responsible and do what the system won’t – make them pay for their crimes in the most horrific ways imaginable. Only this time, no jury may be able to save her.
The poster shows a stronger Katie; she’s not the vulnerable woman from the first film who was forced in to revenge. This time, she can prepare herself and apparently, a short red dress is the way to go.
I Spit On Your Grave 3 will receive a limited theatrical run from 9th October, before being released on VOD and DVD on 20th October 2015.
