A few weeks ago, it was reported that the long-awaited film adaption of the hit horror video game Until Dawn was in the works.

Whilst things are still being kept quiet, we have a sizeable update as we learn some of the cast names attached to the project.

An ensemble of rising stars has been announced, including Love, Victor star Michael Cimino. Joining Cimino will be Ella Rubin, who will soon be seen in Netflix’s upcoming continuation, Fear Street: Prom Queen.

Freaky Tales alum Ji-young Yoo will also join the bloodshed, as will Odessa A’zion of 2022’s Hellraiser reboot.

Whilst It’s currently unknown what parts the cast have been assigned, and no logline has been issued for the film, it is assumed events and characters will mirror the game closely.

In Until Dawn the player embodies various teens spending time at a remote mountain lodge. Soon, they become aware someone or something is out for blood. In a series of quick-time events, the player must try to complete the game with as many players alive as possible.

How this concept will translate to the big-screen should be an interesting challenge for all involved.

Asad Qizilbash, head of PlayStation studios, said of the latest developments:
“At PlayStation Productions, we are always looking to find creative and authentic ways to adapt our beloved games that our fans will enjoy. Alongside Screen Gems, we’ve assembled a fantastic cast of new characters that builds upon our already stellar filmmaking team and their vision for the adaptation. We’re excited to reveal more about the movie soon.”
