There’s quite a bit of buzz building around horror anthology Holidays, which seems to have gone down pretty well with critics and audiences alike since premiering at Tribeca last month. A limited US release followed, with a gradual worldwide release strategy which will see the film finally hit the UK in July.
Holidays casts a macabre look at all those most beloved of annual celebrations, with a strong line-up of directors to mess with the festivities. At the top of the pile we find Kevin Smith taking on Halloween and Starry Eyes duo Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer bringing a unique take on Valentine’s Day. The Pact director Nicholas McCarthy covers Easter, with Sarah Adina Smith (The Midnight Swim) joined by Ellen Reid for Mother’s Day, and Scott Stewart (Dark Skies) decking the halls for Christmas. Then there are those with a little more to prove. Gary Shore (Dracula Untold) and Adam Egypt Mortimer (Some Kind of Hate) give us St. Patrick’s Day and New Year’s Eve respectively, and Father’s Day comes from Anthony Scott Burns (visual effects on The Last Exorcism Part II).
Holidays will be available to download in the UK from July 15th, with a DVD to follow on the 18th. The release comes from Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment.
There’s a good chance you’ve seen the trailer by now, but that’s no reason not to give it another spin, which you can do below.
