The cast has been announced for Trim Season, a new horror film from director Ariel Vida. Alex Essoe (Doctor Sleep, Starry Eyes) and Bex Taylor-Klaus (Hell Fest, Scream: The TV Series) will star alongside Bethlehem Million (Sick), Jane Badler (V), Ally Ioannides (Synchronic), Cory Hart (Fear the Walking Dead), Marc Senter (The Devil’s Carnival), Ryan Donowho (Cabin Fever 3: Patient Zero), and Juliette Kenn De Balinthazy.
Vida, who has been a production designer on films like 2020’s gorgeous She Dies Tomorrow, also wrote the screenplay for Trim Season along with David Blair, based on a story by Megan Sutherland, Cullen Poythress, and Sean E. DeMott. Loosely inspired by the true story of some women who went missing in California during marijuana harvesting season, the film follows a group of young people from LA who head to a remote marijuana farm in the hope of making some quick cash. But when they discover the location’s dark secrets, they find themselves in a race against time to escape the mountain they are trapped on.
The Hollywood Reporter notes that Trim Season recently wrapped filming in Utah. The film is aiming for a festival debut.
