The official trailer has landed for what may well be in the running for the hippest horror flick of the year. Written and directed by Jordan Galland (Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Undead), Ava’s Possessions features a ridiculously cool, female-led cast headed by Louisa Krause (Martha Marcy May Marlene) and featuring Jemima Kirke (Jessa from HBO’s Girls), reliably awesome genre veteran Carol Kane (When a Stranger Calls, Scrooged, Addams Family Values), Whitney Able (All The Boys Love Mandy Lane, Monsters) and William Sadler (The Mist, Machete Kills).
The colourful demonic horror premiered at last year’s SXSW film festival, and is due to hit US screens March 4th, followed by a UK release on April 26th.
Momentum provided the following synopsis:
Ava Dobkins is recovering from demonic possession. With no memory of the past month, she is forced to attend a Spirit Possession Anonymous support group. As Ava struggles to reconnect with her friends, get her job back, and figure out where the huge bloodstain in her apartment came from, she’s plagued by nightmarish visions – the demon is trying to come back.
