A new trailer has been released for the Norwegian disaster flick The Wave and it emphasises the importance of time. In the film, a devastating wave heads for a small town and gives the residents just 10 minutes to escape – or drown.
As with all the marketing for the film so far, this trailer is another intense couple of minutes that draws attention to the fantastic effects that shape the nerve-wracking feature. The tension builds astoundingly to the sounds of the alarm that signals the town to begin making their escape and manages to garner interest, without giving important plot details away.
The film itself is a solid addition to the disaster genre and is filled with excitement and emotion. Despite being a touch too clichéd to fully differentiate itself from Hollywood’s disaster efforts, it’s still well worth your time and could be considered one of the best disaster films in a decade.
Check out the action-packed trailer below and be sure to catch The Wave when it storms on to VOD on 4th March 2016.
