The Invitation/Jennifer’s Body director Karyn Kusama is building a damn strong cast for her upcoming crime thriller Destroyer. Nicole Kidman signed up a little while ago, and was quickly followed by Sebastian Stan (Black Swan, Captain America series) and Tatiana Maslany (Eastern Promises, Diary of the Dead). This week, three more names have joined the cast, those being Toby Kebbell (A Monster Calls, Dead Man’s Shoes), Bradley Whitford (Get Out, Cabin in the Woods) and Scoot McNairy (Monsters, Argo).
The Invitation scribes Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi wrote Destroyer, as well as producing alongside Fred Berger (La La Land, The Autopsy of Jane Doe).
Synopsis:
Destroyer follows the moral and existential odyssey of LAPD detective Erin Bell who, as a young cop, was placed undercover with a cult-like gang in the California desert with tragic results. When the leader of that gang re-emerges many years later, she must work her way back through the remaining members and into her own history with them to finally reckon with the demons that destroyed her past.
Filming on the LA-set thriller is set to begin next week.
