There are many different takes on the classic Mary Shelley Frankenstein tale, but none are as different and intriguing as this. Patchwork sees three women get stitched together and forced to think as one, so that they can figure who is behind their grisly situation. It looks as gory and gruesome as it sounds, so naturally, we are huge fans of it.
Synopsis:
Three women go out for a night on the town separately and wake up together in a decidedly compromising position. After being murdered, dissected, and reassembled into a single person, Jennifer, Ellie, and Madeleine find themselves trapped inside the body of Stitch. Frankenstein meets the Hangover as these frightful femmes piece together what happened to them and who is responsible, tearing through anyone who gets in their way.
Never has the song ‘Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes’ sounded so sinister, showing that even the most innocent of songs can become twisted if they are paired with the right imagery. The trailer is stylish and simple; more like a gallery of stills than a story and gives us just enough without giving too much away. It looks bloody, unique, and like something we certainly can’t wait to see more of.
Patchwork has had a lot of positive responses after festival screenings that include Toronto After Dark at TIFF and Screamfest with it being described as Re-Animator for the 21st Century. So, expect a good helping of both gore and comedy! Director Tyler Macintyre is behind the film and it stars Tory Stolper, Tracey Fairaway and Maria Blasucci as the three women who become one.
