Filming has begun on the third instalment of the Orphan franchise; it has been confirmed.
We can also confirm that the film’s official title will be Orphans, however plot details remain a closely guarded secret.
Filming began in Budapest, Hungary recently, revisiting the same location used during the shooting of 2022’s prequel Orphan: First Kill.
Series star Isabelle Furhman will return as sinister lead Leena Klammer. The iconic character is a psychotic young woman with a growth deficiency disorder. Using this to her advantage, Leena adopts the name Esther, and worms her way into unsuspecting families, posing as a child.
Also returning from First Kill are director William Brent Bell and screenwriter David Coggeshall.
However, no further names attached to the project have been disclosed.
It also remains unknown if Orphans will continue the prequel timeline established by First Kill, or jump forward and follow the events of 2009’s Orphan.
It is unclear if the third entry will mirror First Kill and release via streaming alongside a run in theatres, or will have a full theatrical release.
A release date is not known at this time, but Orphans is expected to release sometime in 2026.
We’ll watch this project closely and report any further updates as soon as we can.
