THE VELOCIPASTOR GETTING “SPIRITUAL SEQUEL” OUTBACK DRACULA

Posted on: June 27th, 2020

Writer-director Brendan Steere has been teasing a follow-up to his instant cult classic The VelociPastor for a few months now. The details have finally been revealed—and they’re even wilder than any of us could have anticipated!

Rather than continuing Doug and Carol’s story from the first movie, Steere is going the “spiritual sequel” route with Outback Dracula, a vampire flick set in 1880s Australia. In the film, a psychic, lesbian schoolteacher will team up with the world’s greatest adventurer to find her missing girlfriend—and defeat Dracula and his Golden Army of the Undead.

Steere told The Hollywood Reporter that Outback Dracula will have the same “insane, anything-goes tone” as The VelociPastor. The film will have a significantly higher budget (though still relatively small, compared to many features), and will be the second part in a “spiritual trilogy” of horror-comedies.
