The Trailer For What We Become is a Bad Dream

Posted on: September 24th, 2015

The trailer for the Danish zombie-horror What We Become is more than a bad dream; it’s a nightmare! The trailer shows bio-suited soldiers sealing people in their homes, but they fail to truly protect the families as it’s not long before the bloodied infected break-in in a complete frenzy.

The doomed civilisation setting looks suitably dreary with abandoned cars dominating the roads and a general bleak atmosphere covering the city. It looks like a mix of The Walking Dead and 28 Days Later, with a dash of Let The Right One In right at the end.

Synopsis:
The summer is shaping up to be perfect for the Johansson family. The weather is gorgeous, and the community warm and friendly. Even teenaged Gustav is feeling good about life in general, thanks to the new girl who has just moved in across the street. But this perfect suburban life is abruptly shattered by the arrival of a mysterious virus. Unexplained deaths are followed by panic and a full lockdown, families sealed into their homes by patrolling bio-suited soldiers. With things quickly escalating and no information forthcoming, it isn’t long before Gustav takes matters into his own hands.

Bo Mikkelsen is the writer and director behind What We Become and this will be his first attempt at a full-length feature. It certainly looks promising, so be sure to catch it when What We Become screens at London Film Festival on 13th October 2015.
