An intriguing trailer has landed for Brightburn and it teases a Superman horror story. In this re-telling of the Superman origin tale, our little Superman is a bit of a menace and a terrifying one at that.
From producer James Gunn (Slither, Super, Guardians of the Galaxy), Brightburn has been directed by David Tarovesky (The Hive) and imagines if the alien child used his powers for evil instead of good. Now we will understand by Batman wanted to take him down.
It looks like a cross between Superman and The Omen and only time will tell if that’s a good thing. The concept itself is unique, but hopefully this won’t be a typical “evil child” horror film that we’ve seen plenty of.
Brightburn stars Elizabeth Banks, Meredith Hagner and Matt Jones. The script has been written by Brian and Mark Gunn and the film will be released on 24th May 2019.
