Just last week we reported through a trusted source that Lionsgate’s The Strangers reboot was set to release in 2024.
This news has now been confirmed with the further announcement that The Strangers will have a sneak peek showing at New York Comic-Con 2023.
Director Renny Harlin and producer Courtney Solomon will be hosting the exclusive event on Thursday October 12th at 3pm. It is currently unknown if this will consist of a showing of the full feature or will consist of a trailer or extended clip.
Furthermore, the NYCC twitter announcement confirms the long-held belief that Lionsgate have planned a trilogy of new movies. Using the hashtag #thestrangerstrilogy, we can now confidently say Lionsgate have more movies in the pipeline.
We also have a very fetching teaser poster, giving us our first glimpse of “The Man in the Mask,” or as fans prefer to call him, “Sack Head.” The eerie image shows his smiling visage peering through an open window as he prepares to initiate the home invasion.
Currently referred to as The Strangers: Part One, the movie stars Madelaine Petsch and Froy Gutierrez as a couple terrorised by the titular trio at a remote Airbnb. Currently without a secured release date, The Strangers is expected to land in either summer or fall 2024, and we look forward to it!
