The trailer for Mike Flannagan’s adaptation of Doctor Sleep, Stephen King’s sequel to The Shining, dropped last week, and in it, we got our first real look at Ewan McGregor as grown-up Danny Torrance. The character was first portrayed by child actor Danny Lloyd in Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining back way back in 1980. And while Lloyd has long since retired from acting, he recently shared a few thoughts on the trailer.
“I was surprised,” Lloyd told The Hollywood Reporter in reference to the reshot scenes from the original movie. “It looked really good. I was curious since there is a fine line they have to walk with Stephen King and Stanley Kubrick. It looks like they found a way to pay tribute to both. I’d like to see it right when it comes out.”
Doctor Sleep hits theatres on November 8th.
