Secretive filmmaking has been all the rage in recent years, with the surprise release of 10 Cloverfield Lane in 2016 and Adam Wingard’s revelation that The Woods was actually a sequel to The Blair Witch Project being prime examples. But keeping projects under wraps in the Internet Age is no easy feat. Loose-lipped test screeners famously gushed details about The Predator and Unfriended: Dark Web, undeterred by nondisclosure agreements.
But sometimes secrets show up in plain sight; case in point, the Classifications and Ratings Commission released just released a memo revealing the existence of a sequel to 2015’s The Gallows!
All other information is strictly second hand and unconfirmed; if true, however, the films has already been test-screened. An IMDB page for The Gallows Act II still doesn’t exist, but sources are claiming the film stars Ema Horvath, Brittany Falardeau and Chris Milligan. No word on a release date.
We’ll definitely be keeping our ears to the ground in order to confirm all details as they are announced. Stay tuned!
In the meantime, check out the trailer and synopsis for 2015’s The Gallows below.
Synopsis:
In 1993, a freak accident involving a noose kills teenager Charlie Grimille during a high-school production of “The Gallows.” Twenty years later, on the eve of the play’s revival, students Reese (Reese Mishler), Pfeifer (Pfeifer Brown), Ryan (Ryan Shoos) and Cassidy become trapped in the auditorium, with no way of calling for help. A night of terror awaits the four friends as they face the wrath of a malevolent and vengeful spirit. It seems Charlie will have his curtain call after all.
The Gallows was written and directed by Travis Cluff and Chris Lofing; the film stars Reese Mishler, Pfeifer Brown, and Ryan Shoos.
