Firesprite Games has bumped up the release of the non-VR version of its game The Persistence. The game will now launch digitally for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam on May 21st. A physical edition will still be published by Perp Games across all three console platforms later this summer.
Originally released as a PlayStation VR exclusive back in 2018, The Persistence sees players trapped on a doomed deep space colony starship overrun with murderous mutants. In order to bring the ship safely back to Earth, you must gather resources, build an arsenal of weapons—and, of course, fight for your life.
The non-VR version will maintain the brutal gameplay, using procedurally generated environments to keep players on edge, ensuring they can never find safety in the same spot twice. Watch the new release trailer below for a glimpse of the horror on board.
