She’s back… and she looks more terrifying than ever!
After an incredible five years away and a seemingly endless production process, Warner Bros. have finally dropped the first official look at The Nun 2 with the release of some frightening images.
The picture that no doubt has fans talking the most shows Bonnie Aarons return as the titular demon nun Valak. In the image she is seen in a darkened doorway, her face illuminated via a harsh flashlight and she’s smiling eerily at the camera.
Next, we see Taissa Farmiga returning as Sister Irene, the protagonist that survived a close call with Valak once before. The young nun will valiantly venture back into battle after getting word that Valak has returned. Sister Irene is seen staring off-camera looking decidedly terrified as she holds a flashlight.
Plot-wise, little has been confirmed about The Nun 2 but we are sure to get a taste of what’s in store with a trailer set to drop online very soon. Already playing in theatres before The Boogeyman, the teaser has leaked online, but franchise fans are waiting for an official release before sharing their thoughts.
Directed by Conjuring Universe mainstay Michael Chaves, The Nun 2 will act as the 9th instalment in what has become the most profitable horror franchise in history. Will The Nun 2 add another chunk of change to The Conjuring Universe’s $2.6 billion total?
