“My husband’s turned into some kind of… sheep man!”
It’s been 20 years since Jonathan King taught us sheep aren’t as placid and adorable as they seem.
2006’s horror-comedy Black Sheep saw the fluffy creatures turned into blood-thirsty zombies by a genetic mutation. Equal parts hilarious and horrifying, King’s feature was lauded with praise in its homeland of New Zealand. Similar success followed across Europe, and the movie became a hit on the home video market.
However, despite Black Sheep attaining cult classic status, fan demand for a sequel has gone unheeded… Until now!
Yes, after 20 years, the sheep have returned in Black Sheeps, and they’re hungrier than ever!
In a newly released trailer, we get our first look at the lingering consequences of the 2006 zombie sheep outbreak. The original farm and facility have been closed off, but one solitary figure remains behind the gates…
A bizarre cult of sheep worshipers has emerged following the massacre, praying for the day their idols return!
Another outbreak is set in motion by a young scientist, concerned that a new pathogen has emerged from the site of the original mutation. The sheep are bigger, they’re badder, and they’re baaaaaaack.
Black Sheeps sees Jonathan King return as writer and director, alongside original cast member Nathan Meister as Harry Oldfield.
Other cast members aboard the sequel include Tabatha Killick, Lucia Davison, Joseph Witkowski, Ian Harcourt, Heather O’Carroll, Paul Waggott, and Renaye Tamati.
Black Sheeps is set to debut across Australia and New Zealand on November 12 2026 via Umbrella Entertainment.
However, we have yet to receive confirmation on when the sequel will release in other territories. We’ll keep our ear to the ground for any updates on that, and until then, you can check out the trailer below:
