A brand new trailer has been unveiled for Netflix’s next venture into horror. Titled Malevolent, the trailer shows a scare scam go wrong as a pair of brother-sister con artists get their just desserts.
The scammers become the scammed in the film that follows Angela (Florence Pugh) and Jackson (Ben Lloyd-Huges) as they try to fool a Celia Imrie’s Mrs Green, who invites the duo to a supposedly haunted orphanage to investigate supernatural occurrences. The pair soon get more than they bargained for when they are confronted with true horror and the orphanage’s truly dark past.
The trailer doesn’t offer anything truly standout as it showcases jump scares, spooky women and a house drenched in shadows. Nonetheless, I look forward to seeing the wicked siblings getting their comeuppance.
Malevolent comes from director Olaf de Fleur Johannesson and will hit the streaming service on 5th October.
