A cast of Hollywood heavyweights are set to unite for what is described as a “darkly comic thriller,” as The Kill Room gets underway over at Shout Studios.
Kill Bill star Uma Thurman will join Magic Mike alum Joe Manganiello and all-around legend Samuel L. Jackson to form the core cast of the Jonathan Jacobson penned project. Comedian and actress Nicol Paone will continue her burgeoning filmmaking career by helming the project.
The Kill Room is described as:
“Following an art dealer (Thurman) who teams with a hitman (Manganiello) and his boss (Jackson) for a money laundering scheme. The plan accidentally turns the hired killer into an overnight avant-garde sensation, forcing the dealer to play the art world against the underworld.
’The Kill Room’ is a sharp, darkly comic evisceration of the art collecting scene, delivered with wily relish by Uma Thurman and director Nicol Paone. We’re confident this will play very well with audiences who like their entertainment both witty and visceral!”
The Kill Room will be a co-production between Yale Productions, known for the exceedingly gory The Wrath of Becky, and 9 other independent companies, all banding together through Shout Studios to create a unique and character driven dark comedy.
The project does not currently have a release date in place and it is unknown whether a theatrical release is planned or if The Kill Room will be a streaming original. We will keep our eyes peeled for any further updates.
