The supernatural horror-drama The Keeping Hours will be heading to VOD and DVD, missing out on a theatrical release. The Blumhouse-produced flick comes from the studio that brought us Get Out and Happy Death Day, but it appears The Keeping Hours does not have quite the same amount of faith behind it.
Synopsis:
Successful attorney Mark (Lee Pace) returns to his old house after the renters skipped out on rent. While there he experiences a supernatural event that forces him to reach out to his ex-wife (Carrie Coon). Ten years after their son’s death, a ghost will help reunite the estranged couple and deliver a message of life or death.
Check out the trailer below. It’s an intriguing one definitely; the tone is not quite full-blown horror and treads a surprisingly sentimental route as it explores the strange arrival of a family’s dead son. It’s certainly no Pet Sematary, but there is an oddness surrounding the ghostly child that is immediately eerie.
You can catch The Keeping Hours on VOD from 24th July, before the film heads to DVD on 7th August, all courtesy of Universal Home Entertainment.
