“THE DEVIL ON TRIAL:” UPCOMING NETFLIX DOCUMENTARY EXAMINES THE TRUE EVENTS BEHIND “THE CONJURING: THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT”

Posted on: September 12th, 2023

Somehow, it’s already been two years since the third instalment of The Conjuring series hit the big screen. Whilst not making as much money as the previous two entries, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, still grossed over $200 million worldwide, with the most unique tale of the series to date.

Beginning with the possession of a young boy, The Devil Made Me Do It soon shifts focus to Arne Johnson, who challenges the forces within the child to possess him instead. What follows is a tale of murder and a trial that would see demonic possession used as a defence for the first time in history. More shocking, it’s allegedly all true.

In the two years since the movie, audiences have longed to find out more about the trial dubbed “The Devil Made Me Do it” case. Now, they’re finally getting their wish, with a brand new, in-depth documentary.

The Devil on Trial will premiere on Netflix October 17th 2023 and cover the alleged haunting and possession of young David Glatzel, and the subsequent crime committed by his brother-in-law Arne.

“The Devil on Trial explores the first — and only — time “demonic possession” has officially been used as a defense in a US murder trial. Including firsthand accounts of alleged devil possession and a shocking murder, this extraordinary story forces reflection on our fear of the unknown.”

Finally, fans of The Conjuring will get a look into this complicated case and be able to form their own opinions. Did an act of demonic transference cause a young man to commit murder? Or does this case just add to Ed and Lorraine Warren’s questionable reputation?

Give The Devil on Trial a watch on October 17th and decide for yourself, we definitely will!
