After The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It opened at number one at the box office, it seemed highly likely that a fourth entry in the core franchise would be greenlit. We can now officially confirm that The Conjuring 4 is in development over at New Line!
This news comes right as production gets underway on The Nun 2, one of the multiple spin-offs to come out of The Conjuring universe. Recently, it was announced that The Nun star Taissa Farmiga would be returning for that sequel. As for whether Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will reprise the roles of Ed and Lorraine Warren for The Conjuring 4, no deals are in place just yet, though both are expected to return.
David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick (The Conjuring 2, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It) is writing the latest instalment in the franchise. James Wan and Peter Safran will produce.
Plot details are currently under wraps. Watch this space…
