The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina to Pay Homage to The Exorcist

Posted on: September 5th, 2018

We have already been told that The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will be tonally similar to The Exorcist and Rosemary’s Baby, but now we know that one specific episode will pay homage to the terrifying William Friedkin classic. When speaking about the series to EW, showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa said:
“I love The Exorcist. It’s one of my favorite movies. We’re doing an homage to that; we’re doing an episode that’s like [The Exorcist].”

Acting as a spin-off of the series Riverdale – which is currently on Netflix – The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina stars Kiernan Shipka in the role of Sabrina Spellman. She is joined by Lucy Davis, Michelle Gomez, Chance Perdomo, Jaz Sinclair and Miranda Otto.

The Rosemary’s Baby-The Exorcist-esque series has been greenlit for 2 seasons; each with 10 episodes and has been tonally compared to The Exorcist and Rosemary’s Baby. Riverdale director Lee Aguirre-Sacasa will direct and executive produce the series, with Robert Aguirre-Sacasa serving as a writer and executive producer.
