The Hole in the Ground is an Irish horror film that is soon to be released by A24, so it’s no wonder that we have it high on our radar. The first trailer has now been unleashed and it looks like it’s going to be another hit for the distributor.
The Hole in the Ground focuses on just that; a – massive – hole in the ground. After its appearance a young boy goes missing, but mysteriously re-appears near the hole. His mother soon starts to believe that he’s not the same as before and, if the trailer is anything to go by, she has more than a few reasons to think this way. Check it out below and see just how odd and downright scary the boy becomes.
The film comes from director Lee Cronin who, aside from directing a few short films, directed the Ghost Train segment from 2016’s Minutes Past Midnight. He will direct a script written by himself and Stephen Shields (Zombie Bashers, Republic of Telly).
A24 will release The Hole in the Ground in cinemas on 1st March and DirectTV will offer a limited pay-per-view option beforehand on 31st January. The film stars Seana Kerslake, James Cosmo, Kati Outinen and James Quinn Markey.
